This program is designed to help players in our community that are in need of financial help, participate in the youth football program. The WYFL Scholarship program is based on the honor system. We ask that if you are able to pay, please do so. Please reserve the use of the program funds for those that are truly in need. The members of the WYFL are committed to the growth of this program. The program is based solely on the volunteer efforts of others. Use of this program by those dishonestly robs the players who are not able to pay from the chance to be a part of something amazing. We are a small community in Westlake. Football brings us together as friends and neighbors. It is our goal to have every child who is interested in playing be able to participate. With this in mind we designed this program and hope that it will continue to grow along with our league.

Tier One: AWARDED
Total of Five: - Paid In Full, Player Registration WYFL Scholarship for the 2011 Season
This is a full player registration scholarship for the 2011 season. Player will be awarded a WYFL scholarship by the WYFL Board

Tier Two: APPLICATION PERIOD CLOSED
Total of Ten: - Paid In Full, Player WYFL Football Camp Scholarships
This is full camp registration to one of the WYFL Football Camps. Player will be awarded a WYFL camp scholarship by the WYFL Board

Tier Three:
Total of Five: - WYFL Coach Awarded Player Registration Refund Scholarships
This is a full player registration refund for the 2011 season. This will be awarded throughout the 2011 season through WYFL Coach Recommendations.

Any player that wishes to play up to an older team is required to submit a "Play Up Request Form" to the WYFL for approval. Players will not be allowed to play up to an older team without the WYFL board approved application. Subject to team availability and bound by the UCFC Rules

WYFL Try Out Policy

All players 5th-8th grade must attend tryouts. If a registered player fails to attend they will be placed on a waiting list. The wait list players will then be placed on a team by the WYFL Executive Committee. If they elect to not play on their assigned team, or there is not an available space on a team a refund will be issued to said player. Tryouts will be led by the A-Team coach. The "A" team coach will have a list of all players. The "A" team coach will certify that each player is in attendance under the direction of a Westlake Board Member. The selection process will then begin with each player being given a number. The"A" team coach will select his 18-24 players.

Conditioning:

Conditioning will be held as a per grade event throughout the summer. This will be the head coaches of the A and B teams will lead a conditioning event once a week for those players wishing to participate. This may begin as soon as registration closes. Coaches must follow the UCFC rules on Camp / Conditioning. This is an event for all players of that grade to participate in. This is a great chance for players to gain additional training in the pre-season
